The Jacuzzi: Narrative Film
This short film, The Jacuzzi, is set in Australia. As the editor, I aimed to subtly capture the inner sadness of the main character, Dan, as he struggles with the loss of his wife. In contrast, I sought to portray the delivery men’s kindness with a cheerful and heartwarming tone. Since the story is rooted in everyday life, I wanted to create a natural, realistic atmosphere—something closer to Italian neorealism than a highly stylized blockbuster.
この短編映画『The Jacuzzi』は、オーストラリアを舞台にした作品です。エディターとして、主人公ダンが妻を失った悲しみと、その内に秘めた感情をさりげなく表現することを意識しました。一方で、配達員たちの優しさは、明るく温かみのあるトーンで描いています。日常の出来事を題材にしているため、派手なブロックバスター映画のような演出ではなく、イタリア・ネオリアリズム風の自然でリアリスティックな空気感を大切にしました。

ログライン－引退後の穏やかな生活を送るドンは、新しく注文したスパを「もういらない」と突然キャンセルする。だが、配達員のアイヴァンは、その言葉の裏に、ドンが誰にも語れない深い事情が隠されていることを感じ取る──。
